Every school has a school council—a group focused on helping all students succeed. School councils have an advisory role. They help to provide the community voice and parent perspective on important school topics. Come and join us at our monthly meeting on the first Monday of every month in the library from 6:30-7:30pm.
If you're unable to attend our monthly meetings, you can join our email list to receive school council updates, information about upcoming events, as well as any upcoming volunteer opportunities. If you're interested, please email [email protected] and let us know that you'd like to be added to our mailing list.

Why join school council?
Serving on school council is a way to have a direct and positive impact on your child's educational experience. Research shows that when parents are involved in their child's education, the level of student achievement increases.
How do I get involved?
School council meetings are open to the public, so anyone can attend meetings without being an elected or voting member. Our school council elections will take place at this year's first meeting on September 30th, 2024 in the library. You can always check back here for updates to our meetings agendas and minutes.
For more information about joining school council, speak to your principal or a current school council member, or email Admiral School Council Co-Chairs at [email protected]
Boost your school council's effectiveness
School council members are elected to represent the school community. School council isn't the location to address individual concerns. School councils discuss broader topics, like the community engagement, volunteer opportunities, new programs or initiatives, student well-being, student achievement, and school-wide fundraising activities.
Learn more to improve your effectiveness
The Parent Involvement Committee runs an annual orientation event for school council members. This is a chance to get to know your Parent Involvement Committee representative, meet other school council members, gather important information and ask questions.
