All Simcoe County District School Board students take French for 200 minutes a week starting in Grade 4.
Parents can also enroll their students in French Immersion starting in Grade 1. The French Immersion program was introduced in September 2013 and is offered at designated sites throughout Simcoe County.
Currently, the Simcoe County District School Board also offers an Extended French program, which is being phased out. The 2016-17 school year was the last year students could enroll in the Extended French program, and the final students will Graduate Grade 8 in 2020.
